Galalite, the Pioneer of Cinema Screen Technology, launched the revolutionary Mirage XDL 1.2 which stands as the World’s Lowest Gain Projection Screen!
The launch happened in August 2019, in the presence of Bollywood film producer and director, Mrs. Farah Khan.
Since the time it has been introduced, Mirage XDL 1.2 has taken the Cinema Industry by storm with its sheer ability to provide the most enhanced movie viewing experience & incredible quality.
How did Mirage XDL 1.2 transform the Cinema Industry across the globe?
Mirage XDL 1.2 has truly reintroduced the silver screen with a whole new level of cinema experience with the clarity it provides.
It has made the uniformity of the visual gain possible all across the screen. Being supported by one of the best technologies in the world, Lensray Technology, it enhances polarization in passive 3D.
It came as a huge shock for many cinema owners and theatre chains when France’s film board the CNC announced to close down all the silver screens from the country in the next 5 years in 2012.
Reason?
Because Silver Screens could not follow the AFNOR standards set for Cinema Projection Screens.
Silver screens present back then were incompetent to eliminate the “hot spots” which was the biggest pain point of Theatres and Cinema Owners.
This meant that the visuals at the centre of the screens were much brighter than the visuals at the edges. And it was not a slight difference but the dropoff of more than 20% which had to be a great issue.
To tackle this, there were efforts to make screens that could work seamlessly without producing these hotspots. Alas, the efforts were still short and this continued to bother cinema owners and ultimately, the audience.
Until 2019 when Galalite innovated the technology, Mirage XDL 1.2, which brought a tremendous shift in the Cinema Screen Surface and garnered many praises by the experts of the industry.
Mirage XDL 1.2 emerged as the first of its kind Silver Screen that brought a crystal clear view of laser projections.
Its earlier versions, 1.4 & 1.7 gain screens were spectacular at reducing the speckle but still did not eliminate it completely. Bridging this gap, Mirage XDL 1.2 totally removed the speckle produced on the screen by laser projections.
It grants fully immersive experience to the audience by enhancing contrast for deeper black levels along with providing the depth of field.
To counter the core issue of the dropoff in brightness, compared to the centre to edges, Mirage XDL 1.2 brought a seamless uniformity all over the screen.
With Mirage XDL 1.2, the HDR images & the 3D visuals on the silver screen look flawless and truly stands for that ‘never-seen-before’ engaging movie-viewing experience the audience craves for.
Despite such a high quality, preserving polarisation up to 105:1 for such a low gain screen is nothing but a remarkable achievement for a silver screen technology.
What makes it a perfect screen for the laser projectors is the fact it is manufactured using a seam welding process for invisible seams, which results in an unrivalled movie-watching clarity for the audience.
