Galalite, a leader in cinema screen technology, once again made waves at Big Cine Expo 2024, marking its sixth consecutive year of participation. The event, held in Mumbai on September 30 and October 1, 2024, was one of the most prestigious gatherings of cinema industry professionals in Asia. A highlight of Galalite’s participation was a keynote speech by Yusuf S. Galabhaiwala, Director of Operations at Galalite Screens. He took the stage with a heartfelt message of gratitude and innovation, reflecting on the company’s mission to lead the cinema screen industry through both technology and sustainability. He shared Galalite’s pride in becoming the first cinema screen manufacturer with a completely emission-free production process, urging others in the industry to follow suit in adopting sustainable practices.
He also emphasized the importance of operational efficiency for cinema owners, particularly through the use of high-gain screens that reduce the need for high-powered projectors. This, he explained, leads to cost savings for cinema operators while ensuring exceptional brightness and clarity for viewers. He also introduced Galalite’s Lensray Technology to the audience, positioning it as a vital solution for cinemas using laser projection systems.
In a particularly moving part of his speech, Mr. Galabhaiwala quoted director Mstyslav Chernov: “Cinema forms memories, and memories form history.” He elaborated on the responsibility that screen manufacturers bear in delivering the highest quality visual experiences to audiences, shaping not only memories but also the future of cinema.
